Icelandic volcano causes trouble for weatherman Sean Batty Sean Batty, who is well known for name-checking different parts of Scotland during his weather forecasts, fell foul of a name during some recent filming. The popular presenter was in Iceland filming his new series Weatherwatch with Sean Batty when his troubles began.

In Iceland to explore extreme weather, he was filming a piece about the volcano that caused Europe-wide travel chaos in 2010.

Keen, as ever, to get things right, he had a go at giving the name of the volcano – Eyjafjallajokull. Then he had another go… and another... and another.

Poor Sean struggled to get his lips around the Icelandic tongue twister, even resorting to getting the name put on autocue.

Eventually he got there, and you can see the result in his Weatherwatch with Sean Batty show on Monday night.

Sean also finds the Northern Lights, has a go at ice climbing and tries out some hair-raising motoring on a skid pad.

But in the meantime, watch his hilarious attempts to get it right.

Not only that, fans can put their questions to Sean as he takes part in live web chats at the end of each episode. If you have a questtion for him about the programmes you can contact him on Twitter @SeanBattySTV, on the Weatherwatch e-mail,weatherwatch@stv.tv or via the STV Live App.  which works on most mobile devices as well as on your computer.
