Sean’s passion for the weather is clear with every enthusiastic forecast on STV. But do you know how he does it?
He takes us on a tour of STV that reveals what lies behind the weathermaps.
The dressing room is one of the first stops on the tour, and his impressive tie collection contains a Paisley patterned one to represent his home-town of Paisley, one with presents on it for his birthday and a tie covered in red dragons for St David’s Day.
Allowing the camera into the heart of his weather station, he looks at the weather charts and explains the symbols he uses to illustrate the outlook.
On the roof of the STV building in Glasgow, he talks through the array of weather measuring gizmos that let him know what’s going on.
Of course, the popular presenter is thrilled to have been given his own series, Weatherwatch with Sean Batty.
In it, he gets to leave the toasty STV building and explore some extremes of weather, including in Iceland.
Not only that, fans can put their questions to Sean as he takes part in live web chats at the end of each episode. If you have a questtion for him about the programmes you can contact him on Twitter @SeanBattySTV, on the Weatherwatch e-mail,weatherwatch@stv.tv or via the STV Live App. which works on most mobile devices as well as on your computer.
