About Swine Flu

The H1N1 strain of the influenza virus has captured the attention of the world since people in Mexico began to show flu-like symptoms in March 2009. By June the World Health Organisation classified the virus as a global pandemic, the first flu pandemic since 1968. The UK reported a high number of cases. The first cases - and the first death - were reported in Scotland.
