About St Andrew's Day

St Andrew never came to Scotland and nobody is quite sure whether the cross on the Scottish saltire is the one he was crucified on or one that appeared in the sky over an 8th century battle at Athelstaneford in East Lothian. But Scotland's patron saint he is and so November 30th is our national day.
