About Michael Martin

Michael John Martin MP (born 3 July 1945) is the current Speaker of the House of Commons in the United Kingdom and the Member of Parliament for Glasgow North East. He was the first Roman Catholic to serve as Speaker since the Reformation, but attracted controversy for his handling of the MPs Expenses affair in mid-2009.
