STV News Entertainment reporter Laura Boyd is putting her dancing shoes on and learning to ballroom dance this year with a professional partner in aid of STV Children’s Appeal at the Step Up for Charity competition.
The competition will see Laura battle it out against other amateurs to win the Step Up For Charity Crown. Laura has been training at least once week until the grand finale which takes place on Saturday 8th June at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel in Glasgow.
Itison is supporting Laura’s dancing challenge with a £500 sponsorship to boost her fundraising for STV Children's Appeal!
Laura Boyd STV News Entertainment Reporter, said: "Training has been tough and there have been quite a few bruises along the way but it’s all worth it to raise money for the STV Children’s Appeal. I’m so grateful to itison for their support over the years and sponsoring me for this has just made me even more determined to ‘step up’ on the big night. Just hope I’m more Stacey Dooley than Anne Widdicombe! Stay tuned to find out...."
Since launching in 2011, the STV Children's Appeal has raised over £19 million, with 1102 big and small awards distributed to projects across all 32 local authority areas in Scotland, providing much needed support to over 79,000 children. The money raised is distributed to provide practical help like food and warm clothes; create opportunities for training and employability; and enable social and emotional support for those who need it most.
