Scotland’s favourite weather presenter, STV’s Sean Batty, is hoping for blue skies as he jets off to Shetland for a day of tea parties to raise funds for children affected by poverty in Scotland.
Sean Batty's Tunnock's Tea Party, supported by Loganair, will see Sean enjoy a cuppa – or several! – as he joins Shetland locals for tea parties and other fun events on Thursday 30th August, all in aid of Scotland’s children. STV will be filming Sean’s day on the island for its special Appeal programming later this year.
Sean said: “It’s great to have Tunnock’s and Loganair back on board for my next big fundraising venture. Last year I made a return to Orkney after my Northern Isles cycle challenge a few years ago, so I thought it’s only fair to visit Shetland this time. I’ll be having a big tea party in the sky during my Loganair flight and tucking into plenty of Tunnock’s wafers along the way!
“In Shetland I’d love to meet as many people as possible for a wee cuppa, a biscuit and a blether - so why not get your school, business or club involved and I’ll try and pop in to meet you all. Remember, the more money you’re able to raise, the more sunshine I’ll bring with me!”
If you live in Shetland and would like Sean to visit your school, business or community group on Thursday 30th August for a tea party or another fundraising event, contact email@example.com for more details. Sean’s schedule will fill up fast so get in touch today!
Scotland’s Airline Loganair is supporting Sean with complimentary flights to and from Sumburgh Airport, and iconic bakery Tunnock’s is getting behind the challenge with a donation to the STV Children’s Appeal – along with 1000 biscuits for Sean’s Shetland tea parties!
Jonathan Hinkles, managing director at Loganair, said: “We’re thrilled to be supporting Sean’s trip for the second time, with last year’s trip to Orkney a great success. STV Children’s Appeal is a fantastic cause that works closely with the Highlands and Islands communities in which we operate and we’re pleased that we can help make fundraising in Shetland possible.”
Fergus Loudon, operations director at Tunnock's, said: “Tunnock's Biscuits is once again proud to support Sean's efforts for the STV Children’s Appeal. In association with Loganair, Sean is off to Shetland with armfuls of Tunnock's biscuits to help with his fundraising, which we all hope will help improve the lives of young people living in poverty in Scotland."
