STV APPEAL PRIVACY STATEMENT

STV Appeal is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (registered charity number SC042429) with its principal office at Pacific Quay, Glasgow, G51 1PQ. Although STV Appeal works closely with STV Central Limited (Company Number SC172149) (“STV”) and it provides support services to us, for the purposes of UK charity law we are independent of STV.

Through our interactions with you, we may, from time to time, ask you to provide us with some personal information. This privacy statement explains what we do with information that we collect from which you can be identified and how we keep it protected. This is known as “personal data”. We may amend this statement from time to time, so please come back to see any updates or changes now and again.

For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998 (the Act), the data controller is STV Appeal, of Pacific Quay, Glasgow, G51 1PQ (“STV Appeal”) unless otherwise stated (Reg. Z285762X).

What personal data do we collect?

We do not collect personal data through our micro-site on STV’s website.

We may collect personal data from you when you make a donation to us by post, contact us or otherwise interact with us, for example, through our Appeal events we organise. The types of personal data we might collect include name, address, e-mail address, telephone number and gift aid status.

To process some donations we may require financial or credit card information. We do not store financial or credit card information.

We may also receive personal data about you if you participate in a charitable event we are associated with. Where you consent to it, we may receive personal data about you if you use services provided by organisations like JustGiving or BT MyDonate or if donations you make to us are processed through organisations like WorldPay.

These organisations and event organisers have their own terms and conditions and privacy policies and we recommend you read them carefully.

We do not share personal data with third parties other than STV (which, as we explained above, provides support services to us which include managing your data) without your consent, unless required to do so by law.

How do we keep your personal data secure?

STV processes your personal data on our behalf strictly in accordance with our instructions and the data are ring-fenced and are not mixed with other personal data processed by STV for its own purposes.

We may use information held about you in the following ways:

- to process donations made by you to us;

- to provide you with information about us and our activities and campaigns; and

- to perform analysis of our campaigns and our micro-site.

The information we collect from you may be combined with information we receive from other sources and be used for the purposes set out above.

STV has implemented technologies and security policies to protect the personal data it processes on our behalf against unauthorised access or disclosure; improper use, alteration, unlawful or accidental destruction of loss.

Your personal data will only be held by, or on behalf of, STV Appeal for a reasonable amount of time.
